Pune Gears Up For Second Edition Of Bhimthon Competition On April 14

Pune, 4th April 2023: The Bhimthon competition, organized on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, will be held in Pune for the second time. The marathon is aimed at promoting Dr Ambedkar’s thoughts and spreading the message of social unity and equality.

The competition will start from Sanas ground near Sarasbaug at 6:30 am on April 14 and conclude at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Statue, Pune Station.

The competition will be divided into three categories: men, women, and under 18 youth groups. Winners will receive a trophy, medal, and certificate, while all participants will receive a certificate and medal. The Pune District Amateur Athletics Association has approved the competition.

The tournament will be inaugurated by MLA Ravindra Dhangekar. Organizers are encouraging schools, colleges, voluntary organizations, and boards to participate in large numbers.

The Bhimthon competition is being held during the Amritmahotsavi year to promote social unity and equality while preserving communal and religious brotherhood in society. My Earth Foundation’s President, Dr. Anant Gharat, said the competition was organized to spread the ideas of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar to all sections of society, including Constitution awareness and unity.

Kishore Kamble of the Spark Foundation, said, “We are working to ensure that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s ideas can bring about a social revolution.”
