Pune: Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati’s Glorious Procession Enchants Devotees

Pune, 19th September 2023: The Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati, one of the most popular Ganesh mandals in Pune, began its grand procession in Shri Hanuman Rath on Tuesday morning. The procession, which was witnessed by thousands of devotees, was accompanied by chants of “Jai Ganesha… Ganpati Bappa Morya… Mangalmurti Morya…” and “Jai Shriram, Jai Shriram.”

The procession started from the temple and reached Utsav Mandai via Tambadi Jogeshwari Mandir, Appa Balwant Chowk, Nagarkar Talim Chowk, Shanipar Chowk, and Tilak Putala Mandai. The Gandaksh Dhol Tasha team along with Devlankar Brothers Choughda, Gaikwad Brothers Sanai, Darbar Band, Prabhat Band, and Mayur Band also participated in the procession.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat inaugurated the Shri Ram temple replica in Ayodhya at 10:23 am on Ganesh Chaturthi.

Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati Trust President Manik Chavan, Vice President Dr. Ramchandra aka Balasaheb Paranjpe, Sunil Rasane, Treasurer Mahesh Suryavanshi, General Secretary Hemant Rasane, Festival Chief Akshay Godse, Joint Secretary Amol Kedari, and Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal President Prakash Chavan were also present at the event.

Dr. Bhagwat said that he prayed for peace, prosperity, and mutual harmony in the world, and for India to be a country that shows the way to happiness and peace. He also said that he prayed for a disease-free India and that all these resolutions spread from Pune to the whole world.

On the occasion of Rishi Panchami on September 20, 31 thousand women will recite Arthvashirsha communally at 6 am. Dignitaries from various fields including Joint Police Commissioner Sandeep Karnik will be present on this occasion. From 10 pm to 3 am through Hari Jagar, Bharatiya Warkari Mandal will offer service to the people by sounding Warkari Jagar.
