Pune: Shubh Circle Removed from VIP Airport Road to Ease Traffic Congestion
Viman Nagar, 3rd February 2025: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has finally removed the Shubh Circle rotary on VIP Airport Road in Viman Nagar, providing much-needed relief to commuters. The rotary, constructed during the G20 summit with sponsorship from Shubh Developers for promotional purposes, had become a major bottleneck for passengers traveling to Pune Airport.
The roundabout was installed following directives from senior state government leaders. However, it soon became evident that it was causing significant congestion, particularly for flyers rushing to catch their flights. The structure occupied an entire lane of the busy road, reducing the available space for vehicles and leading to frequent traffic snarls.
Passengers and frequent travelers had repeatedly raised concerns about the issue, highlighting instances where congestion caused delays and even resulted in missed flights. Responding to public demand, the Viman Nagar Citizens Forum actively pursued the matter for nearly a year, urging authorities to take action.

After sustained efforts, the PMC finally relented and demolished the rotary, with full support from the Traffic Police. The removal of Shubh Circle is expected to streamline traffic flow, ensuring smoother movement for airport-bound passengers.
