Pune: Soon BRTS Corridors To Have Automatic Boom Barriers To Allow Only PMPML Buses

Pune, 13th April 2022: Multiple accidents have occurred in the past due to two-wheelers and four-wheelers using BRT corridors.

To prevent such incidents Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has successfully conducted a trial run of automatic boom barriers which only open when a bus comes nearby.

This trial was conducted at Jagtap Dairy chowk in Sangvi Fata to Mukai Chowk BRT corridor. By mapping the success of this initiative, we will replicate the same at all BRT corridors in Pune, Pimpri and Chinchwad to ensure the safety of the citizens and also provide faster public transport services, PMPML said.
