Baramati, 1st December 2022: ‘Speed gun’ will keep an eye on speeding vehicles in Baramati. Therefore, the police and the Sub-Regional Traffic Department have been able to catch vehicles running at high speed on various roads. A speed limit of 80 kmph has now been imposed on certain roads. If the said limit exceeds, then the concerned will face penal action.

Speed guns of the Sub-Regional Traffic Office will monitor the various routes of Baramati. On Wednesday (November 30), a vehicle carrying a speed gun was stopped on Jejuri Road. The 50 km Jejuri road has stripes in the middle and on both sides, and there is no pothole on the road. Baramati to Morgaon and Morgaon to Jejuri road work has been completed. Hence this road has become more spacious for traffic than before.

However, action has been taken against 35 people driving four-wheelers who were speeding faster than 80 kmph on this road, and a fine of Rs 2,000 has been imposed on them.

From today, on behalf of the Sub-Regional Traffic Department, penal action has been taken against the drivers who are speeding on this road. The maximum speed of many vehicles was 100 kmph or more. Many drivers came to know about this action only after receiving penalty messages on their mobile phones.

Deputy Regional Traffic Officer Rajendra Kesarkar said that speeding vehicles are being monitored through speed guns. The speed gun captures the path of the vehicle without the driver’s knowledge. Also, a message of punitive action is sent to the concerned. It is understood that the action was taken only after the penalty message was received. Kesarkar has warned that if a driver drives faster than 80 kmph then the concerned driver will face action.
