Pune: St. Vincent’s High School Shows Domination in Loyola Football Cup

Pune, 20th July 2023: St. Vincent’s High School once again stepped up to the occasion to dominate proceedings, while CM International added an interesting twist in what can be referred to as a sensational encounter in the Loyola Football Cup powered by Tata Autocomp at the Loyola H.S ground, Pashan here on Thursday.

The tournament, organised by the Ex Loyola Students Network (ELAN) and Loyola High School, Pune saw St Vincent’s H.S dominate the Kalyani School in the Under-12 and Under-15 section, but need to stage a comeback in the Under-16 section and salvage a point to keep their day unscathed.

In the Under-12 section, Samyak Bhandare (23rd, 24th, 38th) turned out to be the star and helped St. Vincent’s H.S notch a comfortable 7-0 win over The Kalyani School. After Ayush Rachaluttuni (15th) opened the day’s scoring for the winners it was Ansh Lodha (18th) and Anvic Lobo (20th, 36th) who completed the tally.

Later the Under-14 section witnessed a collective effort put on by St. Vincent’s H.S with four players getting on the scoreboard to account for the 4-0 win they recorded against The Kalyani School. Neil Jagdale (29th), Aaron Baben (45th), Ethan Lobo (47th) and Hassan Ismail (50th) scored a goal each.

The Under-16 section was a game of equals. The Kalyani School were early leaders when Jay Kore (3rd) netted, before Aiden Ambrose (10th) levelled for St. Vincent’s H.S to end the day with shared honors and the score reading 1-1.

Later in the day, C.M International won their matches in the Under-12 and Under-16 sections against Shyamrao Kalmadi H.S respectively.

The Under-16 section was where a unique feat was logged when C.M International edged out Shyamrao Kalmadi H.S 6-4. The ten-goal thriller had just two scores from both sides to account for the goals. For CM International a six-goal feat by Avyakth Guruvelli (13th, 35th, 40th, 43rd, 45th, 48th) was the feature of the day and the tournament so far, while for Shyamrao Kalmadi H.S it was Tanish Aychitte (7th, 9th, 31st, 50th) doing the scoring.

In the Under-12 section CM International rolled out a 5-0 win over Shyamrao Kalmadi H.S with P Karthikeya (10th, 13th, 26th, 28th) standing out and Viyaan Chopda (12th) completing the tally.
