Pune, 17th December 2024: In a significant move to expedite land survey processes, the State Government has announced a 90-day deadline for regular land surveys and a 30-day target for quick surveys. To ensure timely completion, the government has decided to equip all land surveyors with advanced Rover Systems, promising faster and more accurate surveys.

The Land Records Department has embraced cutting-edge technology to reduce survey time and improve efficiency. In collaboration with the Survey of India, the department has installed Continuous Operation Reference Stations (CORS) at 77 locations across the state. This technology enables GPS readings for land measurements to be captured within just 30 seconds, a process that previously required considerable time. The Rover Systems will receive real-time data from CORS, providing accurate measurements visible on the system’s Reading tab.

Maharashtra currently has 355 Land Records offices, and the department has prioritized the allocation of Rover machines to talukas with the highest number of pending land survey cases. This initiative aims to resolve long-standing cases swiftly and ensure a more transparent and efficient land measurement system.

The introduction of advanced Rover technology, combined with the state-wide CORS network, marks a critical step in modernizing land surveys and addressing delays that have often plagued the process. By leveraging these tools, the government hopes to clear pending cases efficiently and provide quicker resolutions to land disputes across the state.
