Pune: Stones Pelted at Nana Bhangire’s Car, Shiv Sena Candidate Sarika Pawar Injured During Campaign
Hadapsar, 8th January 2026: Unidentified persons allegedly pelted stones at the car of Shiv Sena city chief Nana Bhangire and attacked party candidate Sarika Pawar during a campaign visit in the Kalepadal area on Wednesday night. Pawar sustained minor injuries in the incident, police said.
According to initial information, the incident occurred around 7.45 pm when Bhangire and Pawar, the Shiv Sena candidate from Ward No. 41, were campaigning at Mayur JMNS Society in Kalepadal. During the visit, unknown individuals suddenly hurled stones at Bhangire’s vehicle, causing damage to the car.
At the same time, a group of attackers allegedly targeted Sarika Pawar while she was canvassing in the area. A stone reportedly hit her hand, resulting in minor injuries. She was provided medical attention and is stated to be out of danger.
Upon receiving information, Kalepadal police rushed to the spot and conducted a preliminary inquiry. Bhangire said a formal complaint is being lodged at the Kalepadal police station in connection with the attack.
Senior Police Inspector Mansingh Patil of Kalepadal police station said police are examining CCTV footage from the area and have launched a search to identify and trace the attackers. “The incident is being thoroughly investigated, and appropriate legal action will be taken after verification,” he said.
