Pune: Subways Will Be Constructed At Uruli Kanchan, Theur Phata, And Loni Kalbhor On Solapur Highway
Pune, 7th January 2023: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has approved construction of subways at Uruli Kanchan, Theur Phata, and Loni Kalbhor on Pune-Solapur highway.
Accidents have been happening continuously on the Pune-Solapur National Highway in recent times. Many lost their lives in these accidents. Due to this, there was widespread dissatisfaction among the citizens.
Taking note of this dissatisfaction, MP Dr Amol Kolhe requested Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari to build an elevated road between Hadapsar and Uruli Kanchan. However, as there will be a long delay, Kolhe suggested securing at least the important junctions.
NHAI has taken cognizance of this suggestion and approved the construction of the subways at Urli Kanchan (Km. 28/910), Loni (Km. 17/500), and Theur Phata (Km. 20/280). Therefore, the journey of motorists on the Pune-Solapur National Highway will be safe. At the same time, local citizens and pedestrians will also get safe.
In this regard, MP Dr Kolhe said, “The safety of citizens and motorists is a matter of priority, and these three subways can control accidents. Now, I will continue to follow up so that the work of all these three subways is completed soon.”
