Wakad, 11th November 2024: MP Supriya Sule criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to resolve persistent civic issues in the Chinchwad constituency, despite being in power “from Galli to Delhi” for the past decade.

Addressing a gathering in Wakad, she highlighted the disillusionment of citizens, who continue to struggle with basic issues such as traffic congestion, air pollution, water shortages, and power outages. Sule pledged that, if the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) returns to power, addressing these problems would be a priority.

Sule made these remarks while campaigning for MVA candidate Rahul Kalate. The event saw the participation of prominent figures, including OBC Cell State President Raj Rajapurkar, Women’s State President Swati Chitnis, MLA Suman Patil, and NCP Student Congress State President Sunil Gavane. The meeting was attended by a large number of local citizens, particularly from the IT sector, who raised concerns about the lack of metro connectivity, traffic issues, and the rising costs of living.

On this occasion, the manifesto of Rahul Kalate was also released by MP Supriya Sule and dignitaries.

Sule criticized the BJP for making repeated promises during election campaigns but failing to deliver concrete solutions. She pointed to unfulfilled commitments from previous elections, including the unresolved housing issue in the Blue Line area, stalled road-widening projects, and inadequate waste management. “For ten years, people have been promised solutions, but nothing has been done. Citizens are still waiting for safe roads, 24×7 water supply, and proper waste management,” she stated.

In her interaction, Sule drew attention to the struggles of IT professionals who endure long hours in traffic due to poor infrastructure. “For a nine-hour workday in Hinjawadi, people are spending five hours in traffic. Why is there no metro connectivity to busy areas like Wakad and Pimple Saudagar?” she questioned, further criticizing the BJP’s metro route decisions, which bypass essential areas. She also pointed out the lack of basic amenities in housing societies, where residents rely on water tankers and face frequent power outages, resulting in increased costs for diesel-powered generators.

Sule expressed her disappointment over the misuse of public funds, stating, “BJP has squandered thousands of crores on superficial projects, neglecting essential infrastructure. What happened to the Jal Jeevan Mission and Har Ghar Jal Yojana? These schemes have consumed vast amounts of money, but the problems persist. I will demand an audit and a white paper on these funds once the MVA is in power.”

In her concluding remarks, Sule assured voters that the MVA will create a detailed road map to improve water supply, roads, and other critical infrastructure. She emphasized that solving these long-standing issues would be the coalition’s top priority.

The growing dissatisfaction among Chinchwad residents was evident as they voiced their frustration over unresolved problems. “This year, a change is certain,” Sule remarked, echoing the sentiments of many citizens in the constituency.
