Pune: Swanika wins Double crown at the Bharati Vidyapeeth MSLTA Deccan Gymkhana All India Ranking Championship Series U14 Tennis Tournament

Pune, 6th October 2023: Pune girl Swanika Roy won a memorable double crown winning the Girls Singles and Doubles titles at the Bharati Vidyapeeth MSLTA Deccan Gymkhana All India Ranking Championship Series U14 Tennis Tournament being organised by Sandeep Kirtane Tennis Academy and played at Deccan Gymkhana Tennis Courts

In the Girls Singles finals Swanika a 8th standard Student of Abhinav Vidyalya English School accounted for Second seeded Aarohi Deshmukh 6-2, 6-3 to win the title . In the doubles Swanika Roy partnering Shravee Deore rallied past Swara Javale and Kavya Deshmukh 6-4, 6-1 to win the title

In the boys finals Shaunak Suvarna of Kolhapur lost the first set 4-6 but led 3-1 in the second before the Top seed Varad Undre conceded the finals for to injury . The Undre brothers also gave a walk over in the doubles handing over the title to Namish Hood and Aryan Kirtane.

The winner and runner up received trophies at the hands of Dr.Vishwajeet Kadam, Secretary Bharati Vidyapeeth and Ex Minister of Government of Maharashtra, Asmita Jagtap, Executive Director of Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical Foundation (Health Sciences).Mr.Girish Inamdar, Gen.Secretary,Deccan Gymkhana, Mr.Ashwin Girme, Tennis Secretary,Deccan Gymkhana, Mr.Sandeep Kirtane, Tournament Director, Dr.Vikrant Sane Organizing Secretary, were present on the occasion.
