Pune, 22nd June 2021: The National Highway Authorities of India (NHAI) are always pushing for digital transactions at toll plazas around the country via ‘FASTag’. However, sometimes if the FASTag is not working, then people have to pay via cash.

In one such incident at Talegaon Toll Plaza on 18th June, a commuter was charged twice for the toll. As it happened, on Mumbai-Pune Expressway, Akshay Hande stopped at Talegaon Toll Plaza for the toll. But at first, it seemed as if the FASTag was unable to deduct the toll amount.

Thus, Hande paid Rs 203 cash at the toll and continued on his journey. However, the toll amount (Rs 203) was also deducted from the FASTag account later on.

He has filed a grievance complaint with NHAI and is waiting for a reply. It must be noted that such cases are not uncommon and commuters often face difficulties in paying the toll.
