Pune, 27th December 2023: A technical fault in the Over Head Equipment (OHE) between Begdewadi and Talegaon railway stations brought railway operations to a standstill on Wednesday morning. The glitch led to several trains remaining stationary for hours, inconveniencing passengers. The resolution of the technical issue took approximately an hour, significantly impacting trains heading towards Lonavala.

Several trains experienced prolonged halts due to the OHE malfunction. Train number 12124 Deccan Queen, traveling from Pune Junction to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, came to a stop at Shelarwadi Railway Station from 8:00 am to 9:00 am. Similarly, train number 12126, Pragati Express, bound for to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, was halted at Dehu Road railway station for approximately 45 minutes. Additionally, 12220, Secunderabad Mumbai LTT AC Duronto Express, had a 20-minute stoppage at Khadki station. The local train to Lonavala, number 01560, encountered a halt at Chinchwad railway station lasting about half an hour.

Sangram Jagtap, a daily commuter, expressed frustration, stating, “Government officers use this special, high-fare train regularly. However, we face consistent delays of 15 to 20 minutes, and today we reached Mumbai over 90 minutes late. This delay has repercussions for daily commuters heading to Mantralya and various government offices, as well as private sector employees who have experienced salary deductions. When questioned about the delay, the ticket checker seemed indifferent. During the delay, he was preoccupied identifying general ticket holders in the reservation coach, potentially for unofficial ‘settlements.'”
