Pune: Teenager Abducted, Attacked in Attempted Murder for Refusing to Commit Theft in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Pimpri Chinchwad, 7th March 2025: In a shocking incident, a 16-year-old boy was abducted by seven individuals in Pimpri Chinchwad’s Niradhar Nagar. The group demanded that he steal wallets and mobile phones and hand them over, threatening him with violence if he refused. When the teenager declined, the group attempted to kill him by beating him with a stick and strangling him. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon. Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the case.

The victim filed a complaint at the Pimpri Police Station against Sachin Surve (38), Aryan Surve (18), Ankit Sahane (18), Akshay Chatari (33), a minor, a woman, and an unidentified person. The police have detained Sachin, Aryan, Ankit, and Gotya.

According to police, the complainant was walking to meet a friend when he was abducted by the group, including a minor, who took him to under the railway bridge in Pimpri. They ordered him to commit theft and hand over the stolen items. When the complainant refused, the group assaulted him with a stick and attempted to strangle him. The suspects threatened to kill him if he did not address them as “bhai.” The Pimpri Police are investigating the case.

In a separate incident, a 17-year-old boy was assaulted with stones in Darumbre village near the Mumbai-Pune Expressway due to a misunderstanding. The incident occurred on Wednesday evening when the complainant was mistakenly believed to have called out to the accused. He filed a complaint at Shirgaon Police Station against Onkar Santaji Sorte (21) and a minor. The attackers also assaulted the complainant’s cousin during the attack. Shirgaon Police are investigating the matter further.
