Wagholi, 10th April 2025: Swift action followed a disturbing incident at Nyati Elan Central South Society in Wagholi, where two men allegedly engaged in illegal car racing and threatened residents. The Pune City Traffic Police have confirmed that both vehicles involved have been seized and legal action has been initiated.

The incident occurred around 2 PM on Wednesday, when two SUVs — a Mahindra Thar (MH12VQ8218) and a Scorpio (MH12XX4951) — were reportedly seen speeding multiple times through the internal roads of the gated community, alarming residents and endangering children playing nearby.

“This wasn’t just reckless driving — they were racing inside a residential compound where families walk and children play,” said a resident who witnessed the incident. “When we tried to stop them, they got abusive and issued threats.”

According to a written complaint submitted to the Wagholi Police Station, the individuals allegedly responded aggressively when confronted by residents. Some of the statements made by the accused, as per the complaint, included:
“If you complain to the police, I will kill you.”
“I am a local; no one can touch me.”
“Police won’t do anything to us.”
A video capturing part of the incident was submitted to the authorities by residents as supporting evidence.

Following the complaint, Pune Police released a video on their official social media handle, confirming the seizure of both vehicles and action against the accused. “In response to the incident reported from Wagholi, we have seized both the Thar and Scorpio involved. Legal action is being taken under relevant sections,” the tweet stated.

A case has been registered against drivers Shreyash Deepak Gore (age 19, resident of Gore Vasti, Wagholi) and Sahil Sandeep Gore (age 20, resident of Gore Vasti, Wagholi).
