Pune: Three Arrested For Stealing Construction Material From Metro Site, Case Registered

Pune 4th Sept 2023: In yet another incident of theft reported at the construction site of Metro, three people have been arrested by the Pimpri Chinchwad Police for stealing centring plates of construction. A case in this regard has been registered at Hinjewadi police station in the matter.

According to police, three accused identified as Prathamesh Pamesh Sonawane (22), Dharma Buwaji Bhosale (31) and Mahipya Laxman Patekar have been arrested in the case. A total of ten centring plates worth Rs 5,000 were stolen from the online construction site of Metro near Wakad Bridge in Hinjewadi at around 6:30 am on Sunday.

A case has been registered under section 379 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Hinjewadi Police Station. Further investigation in the matter is underway.

It may be noted that the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) is developing the Metro line between Shivajinagar and Hinjewadi on the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. This is not the first incident of theft reported at the ongoing construction site of Metro as multiple incidents have been reported in the past. The security guard posted at the construction site recently caught the accused while stealing the construction material.
