Pune: Three Vehicle Thieves Nabbed By Crime Branch Unit 2 In Last One Week

Pune, September 17, 2020: The Crime Branch Unit 2 of Pune City Police have arrested one thief while his two accomplices escaped. In the last week, this is the third arrest of vehicle thieves by the unit.

Acting on a tip-off received by policeman Mohsin Shaikh, a team led by Police inspector Mahendra Jagtap laid a trap near Pune Station yesterday and caught the thief identified as Vishal Sanjay Waghmare, resident of Dange Chowk, Thergaon. Waghmare and his two other friends had stolen the bike from Talegao Dhamdhere. Police have seized the bike from their possession. The accused has handed over Shikrapur police station, Pune rural police, where the theft case is registered.

A few days back, the unit had nabbed two thieves and recovered stolen bikes from their possession.

The action was taken under the guidance of Additional Police Commissioner (crime) Ashok Morale, Deputy Commissioner(crime) Bachchan Singh, Assistant Police Commissioner Shivaji Pawar and Senior Police Inspector Mahendra Jagtap. The investigation team included Assistant Police Inspector Jaywant Jadhav and ASI Yashwant Amre, Anil Usulkar, Aslamkhan Pathan, Mohsin Shaikh and Chandrakant Mahajan.
