Pune: Three-Year-Old Boy Reportedly Pushed into Well by Minors in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Chikhali, 2nd April 2024: A three-year-old boy, identified as Wasim Najjimuddin Khan, was reportedly pushed into a well by other minors. The event took place around 6 pm on Monday (1st April) while the children were playing near the well close to their residence. According to reports, several children allegedly pushed Wasim into the well during their playtime.

Upon receiving information from the family, authorities including the Chikhali Police and fire brigade promptly responded to the scene. Despite their efforts to rescue the child from the well, there remains uncertainty regarding Wasim’s condition.

Senior Police Inspector Dnyaneshwar Katkar, Crime Police Inspector Rajendra Berge, and additional police personnel are currently present at the scene overseeing the ongoing rescue operation.

Inspector Katkar of Chikhali Police Station informed Punekar News, “The well measures 30/35 feet deep. It has remained closed for years and is filled with dirt and garbage. There is a possibility that the boy may have lost his life. As per the information received, he was playing with other minor boys near the well when he fell. However, the exact circumstances of his fall are yet to be determined, and we are currently investigating the matter.”
