Pune to Mahabaleshwar Travel Gets Greener with MSRTC’s AC E-Shivai Buses
Pune, 20th December 2025: With winter setting in and tourist footfall rising at popular hill stations such as Mahabaleshwar and Panchgani, the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has launched an air-conditioned E-Shivai electric bus service from Swargate to Mahabaleshwar to meet the growing travel demand.
The eco-friendly AC service operates four daily trips on the Swargate–Mahabaleshwar–Swargate route. Buses depart from the Swargate bus stand at 5.30 am, 6.30 am, 3 pm and 4 pm. Return services from Mahabaleshwar are scheduled at 9 am, 10 am, 6.30 pm and 7.30 pm.
Passengers can make advance reservations through the official MSRTC mobile application, the corporation’s website, or directly at the Swargate bus terminal.
The E-Shivai buses are fully air-conditioned and equipped with comfortable seating, mobile charging points and CCTV cameras to enhance passenger comfort and safety. MSRTC is offering a 50 per cent fare concession for women and senior citizens, while passengers aged above 75 years are eligible for free travel.
According to MSRTC officials, the new service has received a positive response from tourists. The corporation has appealed to travellers to opt for public transport instead of private vehicles for a cost-effective, safe and environmentally friendly journey to Mahabaleshwar.
