Pune Tourists Involved in Brawl at Sindhudurg CNG Pump, Arrested

Pune/Sindhudurg, 3rd May 2025: A group of tourists from Pune faced serious consequences after a heated altercation at a CNG pump near the highway in Sindhudurg while returning from a Goa trip. The incident escalated when the tourists, all college students, refused to step out of their vehicles for refueling as instructed by the pump staff, and instead verbally abused and assaulted the employees.

When local rickshaw drivers and residents intervened, the situation worsened as the tourists also turned on them. Eventually, some of the tourists fled the scene, but five to six were caught by locals, physically reprimanded, and handed over to the police. The altercation resulted in significant damage to vehicles.

Given that the tourists were college students, locals decided not to press charges, citing concern for their futures, and let them off after a warning.
