Pune: Traffic Diversion Near Shimla Office Chowk Due to Metro Works, Check Alternative Routes

Pune, 3rd May 2024: Works related to the Pune Metro near Shimla Office Chowk are scheduled to commence on May 4th, 2024. With these works underway, the potential for traffic congestion arises. Anticipating this issue, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic Branch) Rohidas Pawar of the Pune City Traffic Branch has issued instructions to implement temporary traffic changes.

The Changes are as follows:

1) The one-way route has been implemented from Veer Chaphekar Chowk-Narveer Tanaji Wadi-KV Joshi Road Chowk-Shimla Office Chowk (ST Stand Road).

2) Entry will be closed from Veer Chaphekar flyover to Shimla Office Chowk. An alternative route would be to take the left side of the Chaphekar flyover service road to Chaphekar Chowk, then turn left towards Narveer Tanaji Wadi and finally right towards Shimla Road Office Chowk.

3) Entry will be prohibited from Fergusson College (FC) Road to Shimla Office Chowk via Veer Chaphekar Chowk. An alternative route is to go straight from Veer Chaphekar Chowk, turn right at Narveer Tanaji Wadi Chowk, and continue to Shimla Office Chowk.

4) Entry is prohibited from Narveer Tanaji Wadi Chowk to Veer Chaphekar Chowk. An alternate route is to take a left from Narveer Tanaji Wadi Chowk, go straight to Shimla Office Chowk, and then turn right towards Veer Chaphekar Chowk.

5) Entry is prohibited from SG Barve Chowk to Shivajinagar Railway Station
via Shimla Office Chowk. Alternate Route – Take a left from Shimla Office Chowk, then take a right from Veer Chaphekar Chowk and another right from Narveer Tanaji Wadi Chowk to reach Shivajinagar Railway Station.

6) Entry is prohibited from Shivajinagar Railway Station to Narveer Tanaji Wadi via ST Stand Circle.

7) To go towards Savitribai Phule Pune University from Shimla Office Chowk, vehicles should go via the LIC Office and Chaphekar flyover.

8) No parking for all types of vehicles on both sides of the road from Veer Chaphekar Chowk to Narveer Tanaji Wadi Chowk to Shimla Office Chowk.
