Pune: Traffic Diversions Announced Ahead of Annabhau Sathe Jayanti Procession on August 1 in Pune
Pune, 30th July 2025: In view of the grand procession to be held on the occasion of Lokshahir Annabhau Sathe’s Jayanti on August 1, 2025, Pune Police have announced changes to traffic movement around the Sarasbaug area. Several key roads will be temporarily closed, and alternate routes have been suggested for smooth vehicular flow.
The procession is expected to draw large crowds, and to ensure public safety and traffic regulation, the following routes will be closed to vehicles:

Jedhe Chowk to Sarasbaug
Jedhe Chowk via Swargate Junction (P.L. Deshpande flyover) to Sarasbaug
City Center to Sarasbaug (Grand Square)
Savarkar Chowk to Abhinav Chowk (Puram Chowk)
Dandekar Bridge to Sinhgad Road Junction via Swargate
Suggested Alternate Routes:
1.Jedhe Chowk – Satara Road – Laxmi Narayan (Dhole Patil Chowk) – Mirkutwadi Chowk – Savarkar Chowk – Sinhgad Road
2.Dandekar Bridge – Nath Pai Chowk – N.M. Pathak Chowk – Abhinav Chowk (Puram Chowk) – Tilak Road – Jedhe Chowk – Swargate
3.Kakasaheb Gadgil Road – Laxminarayan Chowk (Dhole Patil Chowk) – Dandekar Bridge
4.City Center – Dandekar Bridge via Tilak Road – Hirabaug Chowk
5.Swargate – Tilak Road – Hirabaug – Dandekar Bridge – Sinhgad Road
Authorities have requested all citizens to plan their travel accordingly and cooperate with traffic regulations during the celebrations.
Pune Police have appealed to commuters to use the alternate routes and avoid congested zones to ensure smooth movement throughout the day.
