Pune: Traffic Diversions in Pimpri Chinchwad for Arijit Singh Concert and Tukaram Maharaj Beej Pilgrimage
Pune, 13th March 2025: The Pimpri Chinchwad traffic police have announced major traffic diversions for March 16 and 17 to ensure smooth movement during two large-scale events: the Arijit Singh live concert at Gahunje Stadium and the Tukaram Maharaj Beej pilgrimage in Dehugaon. These measures aim to manage traffic flow efficiently and enhance safety for event attendees and commuters.
Thousands of devotees are expected to visit Dehugaon for the annual Tukaram Maharaj Beej pilgrimage, leading to diversions in and around the area. The restrictions will be enforced from 9 AM on March 16 to 4 PM on March 17 to ensure a hassle-free experience for pilgrims.
To manage the influx of concertgoers at Gahunje Stadium on Sunday, March 17, traffic police have planned designated routes for vehicles coming from both Mumbai and Pune.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Bapu Bangar emphasized the importance of following designated routes to avoid congestion. “We urge commuters to stick to the assigned routes while entering and exiting the stadium to prevent unnecessary delays,” he said.
He also advised motorists to avoid overtaking or forming double lanes on service roads, as these roads are relatively narrow. “The traffic diversions around the stadium will be in effect from 3 PM until midnight on Sunday,” Bangar added.
The traffic police have requested citizens to plan their journeys accordingly, follow official instructions, and use alternative routes wherever possible to avoid delays. With thousands expected to attend both events, authorities are working to minimize congestion and ensure a smooth experience for all travelers.
