Pune: Traffic Diversions Introduced As Hindu Janakrosh Morcha Begins

Pune, 22nd January 2023: Owing to the Hindu Janakrosh Morcha being taken out by Sakal Hindu Samaj today, the transport route in the central region of Pune has been changed. The police have expressed the possibility that approximately 10,000 people will participate in this march, and arrangements will be made in the central part.

The march will start from Lal Mahal Chowk in Kasba Peth around 10 am. The march will go through Shivaji Road, Belbaugh Chowk, Lakshmi Road, Tilak Road, and Sambhaji Bridge and conclude at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Statue Chowk of Deccan Gymkhana.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vijay Kumar Magar has informed that about 10,000 people are likely to participate in this march, and there will be changes in the traffic system in the central part.

After the start of the march, the traffic will be diverted through an alternative route. Motorists have been requested to use an alternative route.

The alternative route is as follows – Vehicles proceeding from Gadgil Statue to Jijamata Chowk will take a left turn and proceed via Kumbhar Ves Chowk till the procession passes through Belbagh Chowk. Vehicles going from Sonya Maruti Chowk to Belbagh Chowk via Lakshmi Road will reach their destination via Fadke Houd Chowk. Vehicles heading towards Tilak Chowk via Lakshmi Road, Belbagh Chowk will proceed to their destination via Appa Balwant Chowk via Bajirao Road from Sevasdan Chowk till the procession reaches Khandojibaba Chowk.

After the procession arrives at Belbaug Chowk, vehicles from Bajirao Road will take Tilak Road from Pooram Chaika to their destination. After the procession reaches Tilak Chowk, vehicles from Shastri Road will proceed to their destination via Mhatre Bridge from Senadat Chowk.

After the procession reaches Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Chowk at Deccan Gymkhana, vehicles from Alka Cinema Chowk will be diverted to Karve Road. Vehicles coming from Bhandarkar Road will be diverted to Ferguson Road instead of going to Prayag Hospital. Traffic coming from Kothrud should take a right turn from Rassala Chowk to S. M. Joshi will be diverted to the bridge. Vehicles coming from the Municipal Corporation will be prohibited from going to Balgandharva Chowk. After the procession approaches Alka Cinema, the traffic coming from Jangli Maharaj road will be stopped.
