Pune Traffic Police Bans Heavy Vehicles On Many Roads, Check Details Here

Pune, 4th August 2024: To ensure smooth traffic flow amid the rains, the Pune Police Traffic Branch has decided to close some roads and areas completely to heavy vehicles for the next week.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Rohidas Pawar issued these orders. The affected areas include key transportation zones such as Shivajinagar, Deccan, and Lulla Nagar.

Recent torrential rains have caused numerous potholes and road damage, reducing the roads’ capacity to handle vehicles. To address this, under the jurisdiction of the Pune City Police Commissionerate, heavy vehicles, including dumpers, trucks, RMC mixers, and others, will be banned from 9 AM to 10 PM from tomorrow until 12th August.

Areas that will be closed to heavy vehicles from tomorrow until August 12, from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., include:

1. Sancheti Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Jungali Maharaj (JM) Road, Ganeshkhind Road, and Pune District Court.
2. Paud Phata Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Karve Road, Deccan, and Law College Road.
3. Rajaram Bridge – For traffic coming from and going towards DP Road.
4. Dandekar Bridge – For traffic coming from and going towards Lal Bahadur Shastri Road.
5. Nilayam Bridge – For traffic coming from and going towards NC Phadke Chowk.
6. Savarkar Putala Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Bajirao Road.
7. Laxmi Narayan Theatre Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Jedhe Chowk.
8. Seven Loves Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Jedhe Chowk.
9. Pundol Apartments Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Mahatma Gandhi Road.
10. Khane Maruti Mandir Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards East Street.
11. Power House Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Maldhakka Chowk.
12. RTO Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Shahir Amar Shaikh Chowk.
13. Patil Estate Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards RTO Chowk.
14. Bremen Chowk – For traffic coming from and going towards Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk.
15. Shastri Nagar – For traffic coming from and going towards Gunjan Chowk.

Barring emergency vehicles such as ambulances, fire brigade vehicles, and others, no entry will be permitted during the specified times and dates.
