Pune: Transplanted Banyan Trees Along Maharashtra’s Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg Survive With 85% Success Rate, Informs Nitin Gadkari

Pune, 2nd May 2023: According to a series of tweets by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, the transplantation project conducted in February and March 2022 along the Sant Tukaram Maharaj Palkhi Marg on the Baramati-Indapur section of NH 965G has been successful.
A total of 1,025 Banyan trees were transplanted to the edge of the Right of Way (ROW) during the project, out of which 870 trees (85%) have survived.
Gadkari added that the transplanted trees are flourishing and displaying healthy growth with the development of robust foliage every day. He further mentioned that the project not only helped in preserving the environment but also provided a pleasant visual experience for the visitors traveling along the road.
