Pune: Trekker Died As Boulders Fall At Sinhgad Fort During Trek
Pune, 26th June 2022: 31-year-old trekker, Hemang Dheeraj Gala, was killed in a landslide on Sinhgad fort on Saturday morning. The Forest Department’s Primary Rescue Team (PRT) found his body late at night.
On Saturday, a competition named ‘Sinhgad Epic Trek’ was organized. Around 300 people participated in this competition. The trekking for this competition started from the Kalyan village. At 9 am, a landslide occurred near Kalyan Darwaja, and Gala got trapped under it.
The rescue operation was carried out under the guidance of PMRDA’S Nanded City Fire Brigade Chief Sujit Patil, Khanapur Forest Department’s officer Babasaheb Latke, and Police Sub-inspector Nitin Nam.
