Pune: Truck Crashes Into Hotel, 1 Woman Killed And 3 Others Injured

Supe, 30th May 2022: A woman was killed and three others were injured when a goods truck rammed into a hotel in Supe in Baramati taluka of Pune district of Maharashtra. The accident took place on Sunday (May 29) night around 9.45 PM.


Ruksana Dilawar Qazi (45), a resident of Supe, died after falling under the truck in the accident. Dilawar Ismail Qazi (50) and Soyal Dilawar Qazi (25), both residents of Supe, were slightly injured while Muzaid Ali Ahmed Syed, a resident of Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh was critically injured.

The accident took place on the Chaufula-Morgaon road passing through Supe. Yunus Ibrahim Qazi filed a complaint in this regard.


According to police, a truck full of sugar was speeding towards Morgaon. On the turn, the truck entered the hotel. After the accident, a drunken truck driver Hanumant Bhalke, a resident of Nilanga ran away. A case has been registered against him.

Dilip Khaire, former administrator of Pune Agricultural Produce Market Committee, was nearby at the time of the accident. He said the speeding truck overturned and rammed into the hotel. At this time, Ranjit Khaire with the help of JCB and some youths took out the bags of sugar from the truck. The villagers including Shaukat Kotwal, Rahul Bhondwe, Popat Khaire and others helped.
