Pune : Truck Driver Booked For Accident On Katraj-Kondhwa Road, One Dead and Seven Injured In The Incident
Kondhwa 11th August 2023: The Pune City Police have booked a truck driver for an accident reported in Kondhwa on Thursday in which one person has lost his life and several others were injured. Brother of the deceased in this accident has lodged a complaint with Kondhwa police station in the matter.
It may be noted that a truck carrying cement pipes hit multiple vehicles including a school bus on the Katraj-Kondhwa road in the early hours on Thursday. One person identified as Prashant Krishna Chaute (45) who was riding on his bike was hit by the truck and succumbed to the injuries.
Seven more people identified as Pramod Shilimkar, Radhika Bendhe, Subhash Pandagle, Viraj Patil, Shubh Rawat, Narayan Katkar and Ravi Barathe have sustained injuries in the incident. They all have been admitted to the hospital for further treatment. Police have booked the truck driver under sections 279, 337, 338, 304 (a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with sections 184, 132 (1) of the Motor Vehicle Act.
It was revealed during the investigation that the truck came rolling on the deep slope towards Kondhwa on the road as the brakes of the vehicle did not work. At least 7-8 vehicles were damaged in the accident.
