Kalyani Nagar, 10th May 2023: Team Swachh Kalyani Nagar (TSKN) has announced plans to organize a symposium aimed at providing insights into the redevelopment process for residents of Kalyani Nagar.

This initiative comes as the neighborhood prepares for the upcoming metro station and updated Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) regulations, which have made additional Floor Space Index (FSI) available to residents.

“We require expertise in two crucial parameters for the redevelopment in Kalyani Nagar: firstly, the restrictions imposed by the Agha Khan Memorial, a heritage property, and secondly, the additional 4 FSI allowed due to the metro development. Moreover, the width of the road in front and the availability of free space also need to be carefully considered,” stated Rachna Aggarwal, Chairperson of TSKN.

She informed the symposium intends to address the challenges faced by older constructions dating back to the 1980s, which may lack modern amenities such as elevators. TSKN believes that opting for the redevelopment process could prove beneficial to many societies in Kalyani Nagar. However, there exist misconceptions and confusion regarding the feasibility and limitations of redevelopment, making it essential to seek guidance from industry experts.

The event will feature presentations from prominent figures in the redevelopment field, including developers, planners, and legal experts, who will shed light on various aspects of the process. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a question-and-answer session to clarify any doubts or concerns they may have. Notably, several TSKN members who have actively participated in the redevelopment process within Kalyani Nagar will also share their experiences and knowledge during the symposium.

The primary objective of the symposium is to foster a better understanding of the modalities of the redevelopment process, highlighting both its potential benefits and necessary precautions. The event aims to benefit Kalyani Nagar residents and societies by providing expert advice and guidance on the subject.

TSKN is currently in touch with various experts and plans to hold the symposium in approximately one month’s time. The event will be open to all Kalyani Nagar residents and societies, offering them a valuable opportunity to gain insights and make informed decisions regarding redevelopment.
