Pune: Twenty schools set for Subhadra Inter-School competition
Pune, 19th June 2023: Over twenty schools will be seen in action at the annually held SNBP Group of Institutes ‘Subhadra’ Inter-school Sports Championship 2023-24, which commences at the Dr. Dashrath Bhosale Hockey Stadium, Chikhali from Tuesday.
The championship will be held in a total of nine sports across both team and individual events for both boys and girls.
The five team sports include; hockey, football, handball, throwball, cricket and will be held in the Under-12, 14 and 17 age-groups, while the four individual sports which include, Karate, yoga, kickboxing and skating will be played in the Under-8, 10, 12 age-group categories respectively.
All events will be played at the SNBP schools situated at Rahatani and Chikali respectively.
The three-week long championship will conclude on 10th July.
A grand ‘by the kids for the kids’ opening ceremony has been planned for the opening day.
President Dr. Vrishali Bhosale explained, “the whole objective of the championship is to provide children a platform to play, perform and pursue their interest in sport.”
The tournament has been SNBP’s blue-riband multi-sport tournament and is being held in memory of the mother of Chairman Dr. Dashrath Bhosale.
The opening ceremony will be graced by Director Adv. Rutuja Bhosale, Director Deviani Bhosale and Principals Sweta Paithankar, Neena Bhalla and Jayshri Venkatraman and Director (Physical Education), Firoz Shaikh.
