Pune: Two Arrested in Shirur for Brutal Gang Rape and Robbery of 19-Year-Old

Shirur, 3rd March 2025: A shocking incident of gang rape and robbery has been reported in Shirur taluka, Pune, coming on the heels of a recent rape case at Swargate Bus Depot. Two men have been arrested for allegedly gang-raping a young woman who was chatting with her relative by the roadside.

The 19-year-old victim was talking with her cousin brother on Saturday night (1st March) in the Karegaon area when two men on a motorcycle approached them. The assailants threatened the pair with a knife and physically assaulted them. They then forced the victim to engage in sexual acts with her cousin brother while recording a video.

Subsequently, both accused allegedly raped the young woman and robbed her of her jewelry. The perpetrators have been identified as Amol Narayan Pote and Kishor Rambhau Kale.

After the incident, the victim and her cousin returned home and disclosed the ordeal to their family. The victim’s sister’s relatives informed the police, leading to the registration of a case and the arrest of the two accused. Police are conducting further investigations into this case of gang rape and robbery.
