Pune : Two Killed And One Injured In Accident On Ahmednagar-Kalyan Highway In Junnar
Junnar 21st Sept 2023: In a tragic incident reported on the Ahmednagar-Kalyan highway near Kolamatha in Junnar Taluka, an accident claimed the lives of two women while leaving a man severely injured. The incident occurred when a pickup truck collided head-on with a young woman walking on the road and another couple riding a motorcycle.
The victims have been identified as Rituja Ashok Dumbare (19) and Savita Geetaram Tambe (45). The injured identified as Geetaram Namdev Tambe (52) is currently being treated at a hospital at Alephata. According to officials, Rituja Dumbare was walking on the road when the accident occurred while Geetaram Namdev Tambe and his wife Savita Tambe were riding their motorcycle towards Kalyan. At that moment, a pickup truck heading in the direction of Kalyan collided with the motorcycle. Following the impact, the pickup truck veered to the other side of the road.
The driver of the pickup vehicle abandoned the vehicle and fled the accident scene. Local police were rushed to the spot and the injured were rushed to hospital for treatment. Police are investigating further in the matter.
