Pune: Two Men Arrested For Providing Fake Resident Certificate For Agneepath Scheme

Pune, 3rd October 2022: The Crime Branch has arrested two brokers who were providing fake domicile certificates for army recruitment under the Agneepath scheme of the Armed Forces.

Popat Vitthal Alandar (38) and Suresh Pitambar Kharat (31), both residents of Solapur have been arrested.

 

Fake rubber stamps, TC certificates, domicile certificates, cash and other documents have been seized from them. The police got information that Alandar and Kharat stopped on the Katraj-Dehuroad bypass road. A trap was laid and both were detained.

 

Agneepath recruitment is currently going on in Mumbai. It is enrolling for two posts namely GD (General Duty) and Technical, for which residents of Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar can apply. After the publication of this advertisement, some candidates contacted an organization.

 

Alandar and Kharat created a fake rent agreement to create a TC certificate. A fake resident certificate was prepared by taking the Sarpanch certificate.

 

A preliminary investigation has revealed that accused Alandar and Kharat have prepared fake resident certificates for 40 candidates. Assistant Commissioner of Police Narayan Shirgaonkar is investigating the matter.
