Pune: Two Men Caught While Trying To Withdraw Money Using Stolen ATM Cards, Case Registered

Pune 31st August 2023: The Pune City Police have arrested two men for allegedly trying to withdraw cash from ATM machines using stolen ATM cards in the Swargate area. The accused were caught after the police team was alerted by the security agency deployed to manage the CCTV cameras of the ATM Machines.

According to the complaint registered with police, the complainant who works as a QRT manager with a Mumbai based security company responsible for managing CCTV cameras in ATM machines has lodged a case in the matter. The company officials received an alert message in the wee hours on Wednesday about a few people trying to withdraw money from ATM machines and entering the wrong ATM pin.

The company officials immediately passed on the information with police and the accused were arrested immediately from the spot. The police officials found multiple stolen ATM cards in their possession. The bank officials were also alerted about the matter.

A case in this regard has been registered at Swargate Police Station under sections 379 and 519 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The accused identified as Rupesh Pundalik Pokharkar (33), a resident of Chembur, Mumbai and Pranay Nitin Pashalkar (23), a resident of Thane have been arrested and were sent to police custody in the case. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
