Pune: Two Persons Arrested With MD Drug Worth Rs 7.5 Lakh In Hinjawadi

Hinjawadi, 7th January 2024: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of Pimpri Chinchwad Police apprehended two individuals involved in the sale of mephedrone drugs within the Hinjawadi Police Station limits. The arrest, which took place at Bhujbal Chowk, Wakad, resulted in the seizure of 65 grams of mephedrone drugs valued at Rs 7 lakh 52 thousand.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Imran Chand Sheikh, aged 32 and a resident of Kondhwa, Pune, and Sameer Shahjahan Sheikh, aged 40. The operation, led by police officer Ajit Kute, took place on Saturday midnight.

Upon apprehending the suspects, the police searched, revealing 65 grams of mephedrone drugs in their possession. Alongside the drugs, the authorities confiscated a bike, cash, and three mobile phones, totalling Rs 7 lakh 52 thousand 700.

Investigations into the drug sale case have uncovered the involvement of a Nigerian man identified as Tony. It has been revealed that Tony played a role in procuring the mephedrone drugs from Nalasopara, Mumbai, which were later found in the possession of Imran and Sameer. Consequently, a case has been registered against Tony, and Hinjawadi police are actively investigating his role in the illicit drug trade.

The Anti-Narcotics Squad acted on information suggesting the presence of individuals attempting to sell mephedrone drugs at Bhujbal Chowk, Wakad. Deploying a well-coordinated operation, the police successfully apprehended the suspects, highlighting the ongoing efforts to curb drug-related activities in the region.
