Pune: Two Persons Held With MD Drugs Worth Rs 20 Lakhs

Pune, 6th January 2023: The anti-narcotics team of the crime branch caught two people who came to sell drugs in the Yerwada area. Mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 20 lakh was seized from them.

 

The names of those arrested are Afzal Imam Nadaf (26), a resident of Solapur, and Arjun Vishnu Jadhav (32), a resident of Lonavala. A team of anti-narcotics squad was patrolling the Yerwada area. At that time, information was received that two persons were coming to the Sangamwadi area to sell drugs. A police team laid a trap and caught both of them and seized Mephedrone worth Rs 20 lakh.

 

The action was taken by the police against the accused Arjun Jadhav under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MOCCA). He got bail six months ago. After getting out of prison, he started selling drugs again. Investigation revealed that Jadhav and Nadaf brought mephedrone from Mumbai.

 

Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police Amol Zende, Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, Assistant Inspector Laxman Dhengle, Shailja Jankar, Manej Salunkhe, Maruti Pardhi, Vishal Dalvi, Rahul Joshi, Sandeep Shirke, and others took this action.
