Pune: Two Power Thefts Worth Rs 1.45 Crores Detected In Wagholi

Wagholi, 20th December 2022: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited’s (MSEDCL) flying squad raided the Wagholi area and detected two incidents of electricity theft. MSEDCL has lodged a complaint in this regard at the Lonikand police station.

 

The investigation has revealed that M Rohan Stone Crusher, an industrial customer with the addition of 103 HP, stole the electricity by bypassing the meter by laying the LT cable through the additional transformer distribution box. MSEDCL stated that as it was found that the concerned customer had stolen 4,25,072 units, he was given an electricity theft bill of Rs 74,88,670.

 

In the second incident, it has been revealed that M Prithviraj Enterprises Stone Crusher has stolen electricity. Investigation revealed that with the addition of 95 HP, the electricity was stolen by bypassing the meter by laying the LT cable through the additional transformer distribution box. It has been found that this customer has stolen 3,55,354 units and for this, he has been given an electricity theft bill of Rs 69,67,500.

 

Deputy Executive Engineer Vishal Koshti, Assistant Security and Enforcement Officer Sonali Bavaskar, and Technician Pawan Chavan took this action under the guidance of Pramod Shewale, Executive Director of Safety and Enforcement Department of MSEDCL and Sumeet Kumar, Deputy Director of Pune Regional Division.
