Pune: Two Smugglers Arrested With Mephedrone Drug Worth Rs 4.26 Lakh

Pune, 14th February 2023: Pune Police Crime Branch’s Anti-Narcotics Squad I arrested two individuals for attempting to smuggle 20 grams of mephedrone (MD) worth Rs 4.26 lakh in the Kothrud area.

The accused were identified as Padamsingh Hemant Patil (23) of Susgaon and Yash Santosh Shinde (22) of Warje. The police acted on a tip-off received by policeman Vishal Shinde and apprehended the two with the help of a team led by API Laxman Dhengle under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad. The police seized the drugs, their car, mobile phones, and an electronic weighing machine.

The operation was conducted under the guidance of Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ramnath Pokle, DCP (Crime) Amol Zende and ACP Sunil Pawar. The team included Senior Police Inspector Vinayak Gaikwad, API Laxman Dhengle, Shailaja Jankar, and Dnyaneshwar Ghorpade, Manoj Kumar Salunke, Vishal Dalvi, Rahul Joshi, Pandurang Pawar, Sachin Malve, Sandesh Kakade, Rehana Sheikh, Nitesh Jadhav, and Yogesh Mohite.
