Pune: Two Students Arrested Duping 4 BJP MLAs Including Madhuri Misal
Bibvewadi, 21st July 2022: The officials from Bibvewadi police station have arrested students who duped female MLAs by calling them for their mother’s medical treatment.
Both accused are studying for competitive exams and it has been revealed that they cheated the MLAs due to a lack of money. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 5) Namrata Patil gave this information at a press conference. Senior Police Inspector Vilas Sonde was also present on the occasion.
Mukesh Ashok Rathod (23) of Buldhana along with a girl have been arrested.
An FIR was registered based on a complaint from the daughter of MLA Madhuri Misal.
According to police, accused Mukesh called MLA Madhuri Misal on July 12 and told her that his mother was ill and needed medical treatment at a hospital in Baner and pretended to need money for treatment. Misal sent him Rs 3,400 through Google Pay.
Meanwhile, when Misal went to Mumbai for work, she noticed that the accused had also called fellow MLAs Devyani Farande, Meghna Sakore/Borardikar, and Shweta Mahale and demanded money.
Accordingly, a case was registered at Bibvewadi police station. The team arrested Mukesh Rathod and the girl after technical analysis revealed that the accused was in Aurangabad.
The investigation team included API Pravin Kalukhe, Sub Inspector Vivek Misal, Santosh Patil, and Ganesh Dudhate, Shamrao Lohamkar, Santosh Jadhav, Satish More, Atul Mahangde, Tanaji Sagar, Shivaji Yewle, Rahul Shelar, Abhishek Dhumal and Panchshila Gaikwad.
Mukesh Rathod is from Buldhana and studies for competitive exams. He has appeared for the post of police sub-inspector. While the accused girl is from Sambhajinagar and has completed her B.Sc. They both got to know each other while he was studying for competitive exams.
Meanwhile, a few months ago he had taken the mobile number after meeting MLA Madhuri Misal. He then defrauded the MLAs in the name of medical treatment for his mother. The girl has also been accused of accepting money online in her own bank account.
