Pune: Unable To Pay Fees For Software Course, Engineer Girl Jumps To Death In Wakad
Wakad, 22nd December 2021: A 24-year-old B.Tech graduate died by suicide as her family could not arrange Rs 30,000 for Java language course. The incident took place on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Namrata Gokul Vasaikar, a native of Dhule, who resided in Wakad.
According to police, her father is a cobbler while her mother is a housewife. Her brother has recently joined a private company.
She wanted to pursue a software language course which would have helped her in better career opportunities. However, the course would have cost her Rs 30,000 but her family could not arrange it.
On Monday, she jumped from the terrace of a four-storey building at Mauli Chowk. She had covered her face with a scarf. After getting information, Wakad police station officials rushed to the spot and took her to YCM Hospital in Pimpri where she was declared dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, when Namrata did not return home, her worried family went to Wakad police station late in the evening to lodge a complaint. However, after checking her photo police informed the family about her suicide.
