Pune University Chowk Flyover demolition in progress, Check for traffic diversion

Shivajinagar, 24 July 2020: The work of demolishing the flyover at Pune University Chowk-E Square chowk began on July 14 and the work is still going on. The work will continue till first week of August.

Therefore, till there will be minor diversion for following routes:

Phase 1a – Traffic Diversion for Shivajinagar to Pashan

Traffic from Shivajinagar to Pashan should take the Baner Route then take left turn at Abhimanshree Road and then merge to Pashan Route

Phase 1b – Traffic Diversion for Shivajinagar to Baner 

Traffic from Shivajinagar to Baner should take the Pashan Road and take a right turn at Abhimanshree society then merge to Baner Route

 Phase 1c – Traffic Diversion for Shivajinagar to Aundh

Traffic from Shivajinagar to Aundh should take the Baner route and the take a right turn near Sindh Society

Phase 2 – Traffic Diversion from Pashan to Shivajinagar

Traffic from Pashan to Shivajinagar should take left turn to Abhimanshree Road and will merge into Baner Route

Pune University E Square flyover traffic diversion

Earlier this month, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) had given a no-objection certificate (NOC) to the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) for demolishing the flyover to make way for the Pune Metro corridor connecting Shivajinagar to Hinjawadi. People have criticized the PMC for wasting public money as the flyover is being demolished within 15 years of its construction.
