Pune University Extends Deadline For Faculty Recruitment Applications To February 16
Pune, 31st January 2024: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has announced an extension in the deadline for faculty recruitment applications, accommodating amendments related to the Reservation Ordinance. The university has opened applications for the recruitment of professors, with the deadline now extended to 16th February 2024.
Originally, the application process for the recruitment of 111 professorial positions across various departments of SPPU was scheduled to conclude on 30th January 2024. However, recent developments regarding the implementation of the Reservation Ordinance have necessitated changes in the recruitment process, leading to the extension of the application deadline.
The General Administration Department of the Maharashtra State Government issued an ordinance on January 25 outlining guidelines for Parallel reservation. The ordinance includes provisions such as a 30 % reservation for women, 4 % for persons with disabilities, and 5 % for sportspersons. Strict adherence to social and parallel reservation during the recruitment process has been mandated by this ordinance.
In light of these changes, the university has decided to extend the deadline for candidates to submit their applications. Prospective candidates now have until 16th February 2024 to apply online, and the submission of the application form in physical format is accepted until 29th February 2024. This extension implies a slight delay in the overall recruitment process.
SPPU encourages interested individuals to consider these amendments and submit their applications within the revised timeframe.
