Pune University Extends Summer Exam Application Deadline Yet Again

Pune, 14th April 2025: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has once again extended the application deadline for its upcoming summer examinations, continuing a trend that has caused mounting concerns among students and faculty alike.

Despite the official deadline having lapsed weeks ago, the university’s exam department has now offered yet another extension—this time allowing students to submit their applications on April 15 and 16. This marks the fourth or fifth extension, raising questions about the university’s administrative preparedness.

Sources within the university suggest that this repeated postponement is disrupting the overall exam planning and scheduling process. The summer exams are being overseen by Dr. Prabhakar Desai, the interim head of the Exam and Evaluation Board, who took charge following the retirement of former controller of examinations Dr. Mahesh Kakade.

Dr. Desai now faces the challenge of organizing the examinations efficiently, a task complicated by the continuous delays. University insiders note that finalizing exam timetables and logistics remains difficult until the application process is firmly closed.
