Pune University To Conduct Backlog Examinations Through Proctored Method
Pune, December 2, 2020: To restrain the copying during the examination, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has decided to conduct the backlog and grade improvement examination through the Proctored method. If anyone is found copying during the examination, the students will need to face the action. The backlog examination will begin from December 8.
The SPPU conducted the online examination for final year students (2.5 lakh) in October as per the directives from the Supreme Court. However, there was no monitoring of the students. Later, it was found that many students appeared for the examination in groups or by discussing the questions on WhatsApp groups.
Thus, to restrain students from doing any of these, SPPU decided to conduct the examination through the Proctored method.
Proctored method
While giving the examination, the front camera will capture the image other than the students. Similarly, if the students try to open any other window like WhatsApp or Google, the exam department will come to know about it. Students have been informed about it through email.
