Pune University To Offer Postgraduate Diploma Course In Urdu Language From This Year

Pune, 13th January 2021: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has introduced a post-graduate diploma course in Urdu language from the academic year 2021-22. The admission process will be held from 13 to 27 January 2021.

The minimum qualification for this course is class 12th. Students who are graduate or appeared for M- Phil, PhD courses can also apply for this course. The course aims to impart reading, writing and speaking skills in the Urdu language.

The university’s head of the Hindi department, Sadanand Bhosale stated that the course is being funded by the university and Pune being a cultural city can attract many working professionals for the course who wants to learn a new language or enhance their skills in the Urdu language. Earlier the university had started the foundation and graduate-level course, which had got a positive response from the students.

Speaking about the admission procedure, SPPU Deputy Registrar Uttam Chavhan said, “The online application will start from 13th January. The last date for application is 27th January. Total intake for the course is 30 students and the duration will be one year. Application fee for students from the open category is Rs 500, while for students from the reserved category it is Rs 350.
