Pune University’s Aavishkar Convention Concludes, Mumbai Bags Most Prizes

Pune, 15th January 2023: Participants praised the functioning of the Food, Transport and Accommodation committees of Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU) for this year’s ‘Aavishkar’, Maharashtra State Inter-University Research Convention. The work done by the Team SPPU remains unchangeable in the hearts of the participants who were ready to be back in their hometowns.

 

The ‘Aavishkar 2023’ held at SPPU, which witnessed the enthusiasm of the participants from universities across Maharashtra, came to an end on Sunday. The closing event conducted the prize distribution ceremony for the winning projects. Students from different universities shared their experiences with this convention. Mumbai University bagged 19 out of 48 prizes in six distinct categories and emerged as the winners in ‘Aavishkar 2023’ hosted by Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU). SPPU emerged as the runners-up.

 

Atharva Sathe, a participant from Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth Rahuri, stated, “It has been an enriching experience to present our work at such a great scale. The management of SPPU and the work of volunteers for carrying out the event is appreciated.” Shabda Waghmode, a participant from Shivaji University Kolhapur, stated, “During the competition, we learnt a lot from our interaction with the juries. Also, the knowledge we gained here will be useful for us in the future.”

 

Dr Satish Kolte, from HSNC University, appreciated the efforts of Mumbai University in guiding them, as they were new entrants in Aavishkar 2023. “We were impressed by the hospitality of SPPU this year, especially the food. The Puranpolis came unexpectedly!” he added. Sharmila Suryawanshi (Co-ordinator, Maharashtra University of Health Sciences) praised the arrangement of the event by SPPU in the closing remarks.
