Pune: Vasant More Alleges Male Doctor Examined Swargate Rape Victim Against Her Wishes
Pune, 4th March 2025: In a shocking revelation, Vasant More, a leader of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), has alleged that the victim in the Swargate Bus Depot Rape Case was examined by a male doctor despite her explicit request for a female doctor. Speaking to the media after meeting the victim, More described the incident as a grave violation of protocol and basic decency.
According to More, the young woman had insisted on being examined by a female doctor, as required by law. However, her plea was ignored, and a male doctor conducted the examination instead. “This is a horrific incident. Even after such a shocking situation, the doctors failed to understand the gravity of their actions,” he stated. More also mentioned that the victim, an educated young woman, was deeply frustrated by the ordeal and had to be calmed down. More also revealed that he advised her to stay off social media.
More further recounted details of the victim’s testimony regarding the assault. The victim had reportedly identified her assailant shortly after the incident but received no immediate help. “She told the driver and conductor of the bus she boarded after the assault, on her way back to her village, about what had happened, but they dismissed it and told her to let it go,” he added.
Highlighting another troubling aspect of the case, More criticized how the victim is being treated during the investigation. He explained that instead of providing her with mental support, she is being subjected to intense questioning that makes her feel like she is at fault. “She is a victim; stop interrogating her as if she is an accused,” he urged.
