Pune Vidyarthi Griha Celebrates 116th Foundation Day

Pune, 16th May 2025: Pune Vidyarthi Griha, an institution dedicated to the education of underprivileged and deserving students, celebrated its 116th Foundation Day with great enthusiasm. Floral tributes were paid to Founding Chancellor Dadasaheb Ketkar and Dr. Annasaheb Khair by garlanding their portraits.
The day began with ritualistic worship, Abhishek, and a grand aarti at the Dhanurdhari Shri Ram Temple on the campus, conducted by the institution’s Executive President Rajendra Borhade. A Vedic chant ceremony was held in the afternoon, followed by an evening gathering for alumni, donors, and well-wishers.
Dignitaries present included Shreedhar Patankar, Vice President of the Governing Council and senior alumnus and educationist; Pournima Likhite, Council Member; Executive President Rajendra Borhade; Vice Presidents Subhash Jirge and Amol Joshi; Secretary Sanjay Gunjal; Treasurer Krishnaji Kulkarni; Registrar Dinesh Misal; and Board Members Anand Kulkarni, Sunil Redekar, Rajendra Kaduskar, Ramesh Kulkarni, and Dr. Rajendra Kamble, among others. Also in attendance were advisors, executive committee members, alumni, donors, teachers, and non-teaching staff.
Prominent personalities such as the renowned Pune-based legal expert Adv. Shrikant Kanetkar, alumni and retired judge Shripad Deshpande, and advisory board member Dr. Satish Desai, along with many other alumni and donors, contributed generously to the institution on this commemorative day.
The celebration took place at the Sadashiv Peth headquarters of Pune Vidyarthi Griha. As part of the occasion, a residential alumni convention was held on May 11 and 12, attracting participation from former students from across the state, some as old as 95 years.
