Pune: Wagholi Residents To File PIL In High Court Against Incomplete Roads

Pune, 19th September 2022: After being fed up with follow-ups with government authorities for the construction of roads, the Wagholi Housing Societies Association (WHSA) has decided to file public interest litigation (PIL) in the Bombay High Court.

 

 

The residents in the Wagholi area are seriously suffering due to the incomplete construction of the following three roads:

A. Bakori road – A stretch of road starting from JSPM College till Radheshwari Nagar (adjacent to Gat number 734/735/736/739, 730 to 754) in the state of being incomplete / totally without any construction / etc, since year 2014 and the demand of its construction is since around eight years.

 

B. Phulmala Road – A stretch of road starting from Nagar Road till Aggreko company Nagar (adjacent to Gat number 620 & 645) in the state of being incomplete / totally without any construction / etc, since year 2014 and the demand of its construction is since around eight years.

 

C. Ivy Estate Road – A stretch of road starting from Nagar Road till Ivy Estate (adjacent to Gat number 659, 662, 712, 713, 714, 717, 687, 689) in the state of being incomplete / totally without any construction / etc, since year 2014 and the demand of its construction is since around eight years.

According to WHSA, due to incomplete roads, the daily commute of residents including school-going children, expectant mothers, senior citizens, and others are facing serious hardships. The serious hardships faced by the residents of the region, whose quality of life is very badly affected.

 

 

 

“After exploring alternative remedies we have decided to approach the Bombay High Court by way of filing a separate PIL for each of the above roads, seeking directions from the HC to the appropriate authorities to conclude necessary actions and construct the above-stated roads in a time-bound manner”, states a letter of WHSA shared among its members.
